As Rajasthan Royals (RR) will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their comeback match, Sunrisers seem to have an upper hand, at least on the paper. Interestingly, both teams have already lost their captains, following the infamous ball tampering incident. Both Smith and Warner are currently facing one year ban for their alleged involvement in ball tampering in a test match against South Africa.
The combined batting average of David Warner in 2016 and 2017 IPL editions was nearly sixty, with an amazing strike rate of around 150. He amassed a whopping 1489 runs in 31 games in two previous seasons of IPL. He single-handedly drove his team to the IPL trophy in 2016. However, despite losing David Warner, who has been a one man army in most of IPL wins for SRH, the team looks balanced. While batting department banks on the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey, bowling area can be taken care of by pace spearhead Bhubhneshwar Kumar and dependable Sandeep Sharma. SRH can also take their chances with mystery spinner Rashid Khan and all-round sensation Carlos Brathwaite.
Talking about the Rajasthan Royals, the battling could revolve around Ajinkya Rahane while attacking batsmen Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson can open their arms, if get a chance. Royals’ performance, this season, would depend heavily on Ben Stokes who can play a deciding role at crucial points. However, like Sunrisers, Royals are definitely going to miss their captain and game changer Steve Smith, who have the power and ability to change any match’s fate with his amazing hooks and lofted cover drives. At bowling front, Royals boast of veteran Zahir Khan who could remain economical but Dhawal Kulkarni and Unadkat have to think of wickets.
Overall, it looks like an absolute thriller as both teams would like to grab the early advantage. The match is set to begin at 8 pm IST, so get your popcorns and cold drinks ready beforehand as you may not like to move an inch when bests would take on bests in the fourth game of the IPL 2018.
